The Wireless System Solutions Division of Tecknomic, LLC, is an industry leader in wireless communications engineering and project management consulting for both the public and private sectors. Since 2003 we have helped solve the wireless communications needs of our clients. From RF tower mapping to large-scale system deployments, no project is too small or too large for our staff of engineers and project managers. We offer a wide array of professional engineering and consulting services and can develop a tailored approach for your specific needs and requirements.
Wireless Systems Engineering
As public safety communications specialists, Tecknomic has assisted public safety agencies throughout the country with the design, procurement, and deployment of cost-effective and reliable radio communications systems and networks. Tecknomic understands that critical communications systems are literally a matter of life and death. Independent of all equipment manufacturers and suppliers, our sole interest is in solving your public safety communications needs in the most professional, cost-effective and timely manner possible. From legacy analog systems to cutting-edge digital P25 technologies, our unbiased viewpoint and extensive experience allows us to weigh alternative solutions that others may overlook.
Needs Assessment and Strategic Options
Tecknomic's public safety wireless consulting services often begin with a thorough assessment of your communications needs and requirements. We will interview key personnel and user group representatives to document the performance and deficiencies of the current communications system, and identify the features, functions and system performance required to support the end users. A Needs Assessment Report is typically developed to document the findings of the needs assessment, present upgrade options, and provide budgetary cost estimates.
Procurement Planning and Vendor Selection
Tecknomic will assist with selection of an upgrade option and development of project plans and budgets. We will prepare technical specifications, Requests for Proposals, and other procurement documents necessary to support your procurement process. Tecknomic will further assist as needed with the fair evaluation of proposals, final vendor selection, and contract negotiations.
Implementation and System Acceptance
Tecknomic's engineering and project management staff are experts at leading project implementation. We will support design reviews, verify conformance with specifications, and serve as your technical representative throughout implementation. We will also oversee system testing and final acceptance.
Major radio projects can be daunting but Tecknomic will be there from start to finish protecting your interests.
Project Management
A project manager is a crucial element to the success of any wireless system solutions project. Tecknomic offers project management services to our clients that do not have staff with sufficient time or expertise to accomplish all of the necessary tasks within the project timeframe. Tecknomic can also provide technical support to the client's non-technical project manager.
Tecknomic's project managers will supervise project execution, resolve conflicts, facilitate client decisions, manage risks and provide quality control to the project. Project plans and schedules will be developed and approved by the client before critical tasks commence.
Design and implementation decisions require professionals that have intimate knowledge of the client's needs and requirements. Tecknomic's engineering staff will support the project manager and equip the client with the best possible resources and knowledge to make those critical decisions.
Interoperability Planning
Effective and reliable interoperable communications amongst public safety agencies and first responders is a top priority of local, regional, state, and national homeland security departments. Planning for multi-agency responses can be technically, politically, and operationally challenging. Coverage Planning & Testing
In planning for any radio system upgrade, expansion or replacement, the first set of priorities often involves improvements in coverage; it may be the only priority.
Tecknomic engineers are experienced with radio coverage design and the resolution of coverage issues. We utilize propagation software to predict and model coverage under various site, equipment, and system configurations. These coverage predictions are invaluable for the assessment and selection of optimum site locations and equipment configurations. Tecknomic can provide RF coverage maps to assist with your planning efforts or perform complete system design and layout services.
Coverage planning may also include field measurements and "drive testing". Tecknomic is equipped with the tools and expertise to collect real-time RF signal data for coverage verification or propagation model calibration.
With an increasing demand for coverage inside of large building structures, Tecknomic's extensive experience with indoor wireless coverage testing can work for you. We have measured and mapped in-building coverage performance inside of schools, hospitals, office buildings, sports stadiums, and international airports. Real world building measurements can be an invaluable tool for coverage planning and the design of in-building distributed antenna systems (DAS).
Tecknomic's portfolio of RF coverage planning and testing capabilities is available to our clients provide coverage where their system users need it most.
